Alba Singh, the main character, travels by plane from Great Britain to spend a week with her grandparents. She and her companion Inés created a wildlife rescue group after assisting in rescuing a dolphin that had become trapped. The nearby nature reserve, which a wildfire had damaged, will be converted into a luxury hotel, the mayor declares the next day. To stop this, the girls resolve to gather signatures. Along with performing several cleanups and animal rescue jobs, they also take pictures of and catalogue the area's wildlife to increase awareness.
