Third-person shooters are similar to first-person games except that in them, you are able to see the protagonist in entirety performing the actions that you engineer. Alan Wake is a third-person psychological horror game. The game has been developed by Remedy Entertainment and has been published by Nordic Games. The game has been designed for the PC and also for the Xbox. Alan Wake 1.06 is the version released for the PC with Sam Lake and Mikko Rautalahti as its writers. The game takes place in a fictional town near Washington called Bright Falls where bestselling thriller writer Alan Wake encounters a mysterious disappearance involving his wife. He finds that his wife has disappeared when on vacation to Bright Falls and also finds that whatever he wrote about in his latest book, is coming true. He finds it odd that he has no memory of writing the book from which all the events seem to come alive. Alan Wake is paced exactly like a thriller series on television. Every episode in the game and its story has twists in its plot and possible cliffhangers. Two special episodes in the game are available as DLCs which are The Signal and The Writer. The game was under production for over five years, which in the gaming industry is a really long time. The ingenuous narrative of the game has had many positive reviews from critics all over for keeping the player fully engaged in gameplay. The main story revolves around a mysterious darkness that has taken over the residents of Bright Falls and turned them into monsters known simply as the Taken. These enemies have a shield of darkness around them that acts as a protective armor. For them to take any amount of damage, the darkness infused shields have to first be burned away. The game environment provides many places where torches and fresh batteries for those torches are available. The player is also actively encouraged to use environmental light sources to keep the darkness away. When standing under streetlights the player is impervious to attacks as the Taken cannot enter well lit areas of the game. This gives you the opportunity to regenerate health at a faster pace. Another major aspect of the game, connected to his amnesia about ever writing a novel called Departure is finding the manuscripts of the book scattered about the areas of Bright Falls. Alan Wake reads the events and plot twists in the book and is unable to remember writing it, even though he is aware that it is his own work that he holds in his hands. The Special Edition PC game Alan Wake received a PEGI rating of 16 for mild violence. Special Edition contains: Alan Wake Game 2 DLCs "The Writer" and "The Signal" Episodes inside the Game. 8 Soundtrack CD The above special edition contents are included inside the box.
