Synopsis: Aadu a girl from a Hindu brahmin family (her father isa blacksmith though) from a village of Bengali in India finds herself in love with a Muslim boy called Suleman (son of a poor seasonal farmer called Mainuddin) living in another nearby near by village. Amidst of all reluctances from the families they manage to get married and start living apparently a peaceful life. Suleman's only concern remains to overcome their poverty. Almost immediately after their marriage he leaves for Iraq with two of his other friends to earn his living. He finds work there and Mainuddin's family starts feeling the pulse of comfort.... Aadu gets a tape recorder as a gift from her husband along with many other things. This tape-recorder becomes her all-time companion. Once on the eva of his departure Suleman stealthily records the sound of their love-making and takes the cassette with him. And then .... America invades Iraq and the war begins. Aadu receives no news of her husband. Same thing happens with the families of the other two boys. Three young boys from India go out of trace and no communication can be made with them. The more the families hear the news of the war the more they see the war victims on the televiison screen, the more they become helpless. They approach for all possible help from various sources but in vain. The war ends. saddam is dethroned. She could hear every thing but nothing about her husband. Aadu decides to write to the president who she considers 'the almighty' After that, series of incidents follow and starts unfolding how the two families of remote villages in India, (though situated miles away from the place o the war) and gradually the entire community (regardless of their religion, beliefs and practices) get affected by the aftermath of the war. Then almost after seven months of silence and absence, Jabbar, one of the tree boys comes back from Iraq. Aadu finds an audio cassette in his hand. Finally it is seen how Aadu lives, fighting the most difficult time of her life.
