ARK: Survival Evolved is a survival action game, where you take control over a random person. You start your adventure on a very hostile island, naked and helpless. Your main task is simple. You need to survive. ARK: Scorched Earth was the first DLC for the game and it took care of many issues connected with the original version of it. Hence, making it bigger and better. In sheer numbers, the expansion pack adds over 50 new items, a new boss, a new map and 12 creatures.However, there is much more hidden in that. First of all, the map provided in the DLC is much bigger than the original ARK (it is almost like an open world) and it is entirely a desert. Hence, survival in this place is much harder. Something for players who look for an additional challenge. To make the desert interesting, developers invented new unique environmental features. First of all, there are hot temperatures which can easily kill you if you are not prepared.You are also going to be forced to deal with sandstorms and other hazardous events. Due to the temperature, the water is also going to evaporate. Hence, you need to constantly search for oasis which is going to be your safe haven. Unfortunately for your dinos and other monsters are accustomed to this environment. There are going to be as deadly for you like the desert itself.GameplayIn comparison to the vanilla version of the ARK, the gameplay evolved by introducing new challenges and elements, which make your survival in this hostile environment much harder but also, more rewarding. Still, you need to keep in mind that the desert might kill you, even if you are well prepared. However, you should not be surprised. Desert was always a place feared by humans.
