This coffee is grown at between 1300 and 1500 meters in the Ciwidey sub-region of Bandung on the island of Java in Indonesia. Bandung is part of the Parahyangan (Priangan) area of Java Sunda (West Java) where coffee was originally grown in the 17th century through the early 20th century. Coffee growing in Javamoved to the eastern part of the island on larger estates, butfarmers in West Java continued to keep small plots of the Typica varietal. This Ciwidey coffee comes fromsmall farms in that area that are wet-processed at the mill and hand sorted to insure higher quality. It has a different taste compared to other Arabica coffee from Java and Sumatra. The body is very goodwith a smooth long-lasting finish and a herbaceous aftertaste. It doesnt display the earthy tones of your typical Sumatran and isnt as bright as wet-processed coffees from growing regions on other continents.
