Don Haynes is one of those few authors who gets from me an automatic read. Whatever he lays down, I pick up. Both a “churchman” and a “scholar,” his judgment about the church and discipleship are honest, informed, incisive and judicious. Plus, he expressed his wisdom with guts and gusto. This book is now the first port-of-call for anyone who wants an introduction, a refresher “course,” or a group study book on basic Wesleyan theology.
