How to Use Step 1. Prepare the two wires of the actuator to connect to the 12-volt battery. Step 2. The red wire at the positive terminal and the black wire at the negative terminal will cause the actuator to extend. To retract it simply reverse the terminal connections. Step 3. To simplify this last step you can have a reverse polarity relay or switch for the actuator (not included). When you want the actuator to extend and retract simply press the switch. Step 4. The brake will hold its position when the power is turned off. It will automatically stop when the endpoint is reached. Step 5. The actuator is pre-installed with an internal limit switch that cannot be adjusted. How to Protect the Brake 1. Please use a 12V DC power adapter. 2. Please do not exceed the rated load. 3. All actuators have a duty cycle they cannot work all the time without stopping. The duty cycle of this actuator is 10%. This means that your actuator needs 9 minutes of rest for every 1 minute of operation. If the actuator works for a long time the motor can easily burn out.
