1: Rufus: A Slave's Tale: Volume 1

RUFUS is a Latin reader written to help beginning students gain the confidence and skills necessary to read Latin. This book, the first of two, contains twenty-six stories about Rufus, a young Roman slave. The vocabulary and grammar contained in each story support and reinforce the vocabulary and grammar in the Ecce Romani series. In each self-contained story, Rufus interacts with the Cornelius family. Students will enjoy the ease with which they can read these stories after mastering the vocabulary within each chapter of Ecce Romani. They will also enjoy following Rufus as he struggles to free himself from slavery and the bothersome Sextus. Follow Rufus from his first days as he works on Cornelius' farm, through his escape, and to his arrival in Rome. Rufus is a smart and courageous young boy who will not let slavery or Sextus keep him down.
