В этом сборнике: Судостроительная тематика и история морского оружия и техники отражены в материалах о прамах в Российском флоте в XVIII веке, балтийской шняве «Лизет» эпохи Петра I, переоборудовании в период Русско-японской войны 1904–1905 годов ряда грузовых амурских барж в плавучие батареи и в заключительной части статьи об истории североморских эсминцев «Осмотрительный» и «Сталин» проекта 30К. В отдельных статьях рассказывается о разрабатывавшихся в России в последней четверти XVIII века планах захвата Константинополя и черноморских проливов и о действиях кораблей Каспийской флотилии по защите русских поселений в дни восстания народов Средней Азии и Казахстана осенью 1916 года. С этого выпуска сборник приступает к публикации воспоминаний капитана 1 ранга в запасе А.И. Степанова о совершенном им в 1975 году впервые в истории СССР продолжительном одиночном плавании на яхте по маршруту Владивосток – Петропавловск-Камчатский – Владивосток. Для широкого круга читателей, интересующихся историей флота и судостроения.
