Супруга знаменитого оперного певца Николая Владимировича Унковского.В своих воспоминаниях Александра Васильевна рассказывает о детстве и юности, семейном укладе, который повлиял на формирование ее способностей, домашних музыкальных вечерах, о Мариинском театре, знакомстве с композиторами М. А. Балакиревым и А. Н. Серовым, уроках игры на скрипке.
