Award winning author Stephen E. White's motivation for his third book comes to us as the result of a mission call through Elder Paul Pieper of the First Council of the Seventy of the leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elder Pieper wanted Bishop White to do somethng that has never been done before - research and write the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kentucky. This time Bishop White is assisted by his wife, Susan, in the development of this calling. It was she who assisted in bringing these stories to the public arena from near obscurity, for she was given the assignment to co-author the book. Her personal touch is evident throughout the work; reading over 10,000 pages of books and documents, along with interviews and observations, has produced something that was thought to be near impossible to achieve. This is a brilliant approach to the events that have brought the LDS Church from near non-existence in Kentucky after the Civil War to over 32,000 members of the Church in Kentucky today.
