Watch Dogs is a third-person action-adventure game, where the player assumes control of hacker Aiden Pearce. The latter uses his smartphone to manipulate traffic signals and trains, hack security systems, disable smartphones, access the personal data of pedestrians, and empty their bank accounts. The process of system hacking involves puzzle solving. Watch Dogs is set in "Windy City," a fictionalised version of Chicago that features an open area and allows for freedom of movement.
