Part of the "Paladin Movements and ideas" series, this book by John Hutchinson argues that nationalism is the very essence of modernity, but also shows how it grew out of earlier revivals. Hutchinson studies the factors common to all national movements, and addresses the ways in which, in a world that is at once increasingly supra-national and regional, nationalism is likely to mutate, adapt and survive. He has also written "The Dynamics of Cultural Nationalism". The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
