This high-quality, durable housing is crafted with the latest upgrades in controls and ergonomics for a comfortable and efficient shooting experience underwater.The housing features a sensitive, naturally curved shutter lever that hugs the side of the housing for easy use when hand-holding. For added convenience, the shutter lever can be extended using the optional Shutter Trigger Extension # 4077.93, making it easily accessible when using a right-hand quick release handle.The innovative push buttons have been redesigned to reduce weight and prevent salt build-up, ensuring smooth operation with minimal maintenance. The back of the housing is laser engraved with control symbols that will never fade or fall off, providing a user-friendly interface for all camera functions, except the Flash open lever.The housing has a slightly negative buoyancy in fresh water and features a 1/4-20 thread tray mounting with 3 in (76mm) spacing. The camera mount is front-loading for easy installation and removal, and a small mounting plate attaches to the bottom of the camera, securing it in the front of the housing.The housing is made from a new white ABS-PC blend that provides strength and corrosion-free performance year-round with minimal maintenance. The specially formulated color deflects the sun to keep your camera running cooler, longer. The light color also provides superior contrast for an enhanced view of the camera, LCD screen, and o-ring seal.The unique rear seal design prevents accidental twisting or stretching of the o-ring for simple and confident assembly. The housing features two double-passivated stainless steel locking lid snaps that are simple to use and virtually unbreakable. The clear back allows you to see the o-ring form a solid, watertight seal as it closes.The housing also includes a spare 1/2-20 threaded accessory port on the side for easy installation of the optional Vacuum Kit # 47012. This vacuum kit allows you to pressurize the housing to check for proper assembly before entering the water.For the best color and clarity underwater, we recommend adding a filter, strobe, or constant-on light. The built-in flash may be used to trigger external strobes via fiber optic sync cord. Two ports are provided for the connection of up to two fiber optic cords.The housing's 3" diameter ports feature a 67mm thread on the front for the easy attachment of external wide angle and macro wet lenses.
