Hoop Skirts and Crinoline Paper Dolls
Description
Lovely belles model classic antebellum fashions. Marissa and Elizabeth, two lovely ladies of the Old South, appear with a lavish wardrobe styled primarily after the fashions in Godey's Lady's Book — a popular women's magazine of the period. Fourteen elegant ensembles, typical of those worn by females in a well-to-do plantation family, include elaborate, full-skirted costumes appropriate for afternoon tea and visiting, elegant dinner and ball gowns, an opera cloak, an equestrienne outfit, and a bridal gown, complete with a floor-length veil. Male figures wearing Confederate army uniforms, evening wear, and daytime apparel accompany the ladies.
