Fritz the No-Good: Fritz the Cat by R. Crumb [first edition]

When Ralph Bakshi's animated movie of R. Crumb's underground comix Fritz the Cat became a hit after its release in April 1972, Ballantine Books quickly capitalized on the opportunity to reprint all three stories from the original 1969 Fritz the Cat book. For the new editions, Ballantine divided the stories into three individual books and used a radically different format: an extreme horizontal book layout that divided the original artwork into three panels per page. In Fritz the No-Good, Fritz the Cat fails at his attempt as a revolutionary guerrilla in San Francisco.
