Flanders in Moscow and Odessa poet Eduard Bagritskii as Till Ulenshpiegel of Russian literature

This book is dedicated to the Flemish theme in the works of the famous Russian poet Eduard Bagritskii (1895—1934) who managed to voicehis opposition to Stalin’s regime in the poems allowed for publicationby the Soviet censors and overlooked by secret police. All poetical and prosaical excerpts from Bagritskii and other authors,quoted throughout the text, as well as Bagritskii’s entire poems onpp. 49-64, were translated into English by Boris Meshcheryakovspecially for this book.
