Lotus: The blossoms of the Nelumbo caerulea are what are used to produce Lotus essential oil. The pale yellow coloured liquid has what is described as an intoxicating deep and floral scent. The lotus flower has been considered sacred for centuries where ancient Asians decorated temples with it and Buddha viewed the medicinal benefits of lotus as giving it sacred qualities. Jasmine Essential Oil is extracted from the flowers of Jasmine, and it has various scientific names including Jasminum Grandiflora (Royal Jasmine) and Jasminum Officinale (Common Jasmine). The oil is extracted mainly from the latter variety.
