About the Author Born in Paris in 1810, Alfred de Musset was introduced to Victor Hugo and accepted by the romantics as one of their own. He collaborates with the Revue des Deux Mondes where he meets George Sand. Curator of the library of the Ministry of the Interior, he was elected to the French Academy in 1852. He died in Paris in 1857.
