Борис Данилович Королев - выдающийся русский скульптор XX века, один из лидеров художественного авангарда, автор новаторских произведений в стиле кубизма и в то же время - традиционных советских памятников, портретов вождей и деятелей революции. Обращение художника к разным стилистическим системам - кубистическому построению и реалистическому монументальному воплощению идей социализма определено историей и отражает в себе драматические коллизии эпохи. Имя Королева стоит в истории русской скульптуры рядом с такими именами, как В. И. Мухина, А. Т. Матвеев, Н. А. Андреев, И. Д. Шадр, С. Д.
